Departments at Rice
Career Development Office (CDO): The CDO provides many resources to help MBA students clarify their career goals and refine their job search strategies, including individual advising sessions. They also handle recruiting for the Jones Graduate School of Business.
Center for Career Development (CCD): The CCD offers programs, services and resources to guide undergraduate students in pursuing their career goals.
Development and Alumni Relations (DAR): DAR strives to engage the Rice community through a wide range of programs and events, encourage alumni to give back to the institution as volunteers and donors, and develop relationships with corporations and foundations whose philanthropic and commercial support encourages increased research and learning.
Office of Faculty Development (OFD): OFD provides support and resources to all faculty by responding to faculty needs and concerns, creating and sustaining specific activities and processes that support faculty success, and continually and actively engaging faculty.
Office of Proposal Development (OPD): OPD serves faculty researchers as they conceptualize, develop, and write their proposals to federal agencies and other public entities to seek funding for their research projects.
Office of Research: The Office of Research seeks to sensibly improve Rice’s research productivity and expand the impact of its discoveries on both scholars and communities alike.
Office of Sponsored Projects and Research Compliance (SPARC): SPARC provides assistance in the submission of proposals to external sponsors and in the negotiation and acceptance of research and training awards.
Office of Technology Transfer (OTT): OTT assists the faculty, staff, and students in commercializing technology created and developed at Rice.
Research and Cost Accounting (RCA): RCA aspires to be a model organization in the field of post award research administration and to provide exceptional service to the University community by effectively managing the funds under its stewardship. Primary responsibilities include setting up awards in Banner, assigning fund numbers, reviewing expenditures and monitoring compliance, preparing financial reports and invoices, coordinating audit reviews, and closing out awards and funds.
